Visit to the farm

Emily's Aunt Allison and Uncle Lee have a farm up north of Salt Lake City and we went out there to look at the animals. Emily's Grandma Stenquist came out as well.

Bountiful Peak

Emily and I went 4-wheeling up to Bountiful Peak with Emily's dad one early morning in July. The views were spectacular...

Uncle Daniel (Summer Vacation--Part VII)

Abigail loves tea parties and her Uncle Daniel (Emily's brother) one afternoon came over to have a tea party with her. Abby loved it! While he was over, he helped Emily and Grandma Grow reorganize the spice cupboard. Apparently it hadn't been for some time. We all had a good laugh about how much extra baking powder and basil had accumulated over the years...

Games with Grandma and Grandpa Grow

Here are some pictures and videos of Abigail and Benson playing with Grandma and Grandpa Grow...

Abby taking all of Grandpa's monopoly money; Benson eating a toy sandwich with Grandma
In this video, Grandpa put a latex glove on a dill and let the kids watch it twist all over the place.

Fun with a screw gun

Grandpa got his air compressor out and let Benson shoot the air at things

Teaching the Bernoulli effect early. Look at Benson's smile in the video when he gets the ball to float!

Even washing the car is fun when it's with Grandpa!

Grandma and Grandpa Grows' House (Summer Vacation--Part V)

We had so much fun playing at Emily's parent's house. We did a lot of things outside like riding on their 4-wheelers and shooting bb-guns. Benson especially loved the 4-wheeler rides!

Benson couldn't get enough of the 4-wheelers

Emily's dad glued primers to the ends of the pellets so they would make a louder pop.

Mission Reunion (Summer Vacation--Part IV)

While out in Utah this past Summer I organized a little mission reunion. I sent out invitations to as many former Netherlands Amsterdam Missionaries as I could think of and we all met at a park in South Jordan to have a pot luck just after the 4th of July. We probably had close to a hundred people if you count all the spouses and children. The weather was pleasant and it was so nice to talk with old friends. Many of the former missionaries hadn't had a "reunion" in nearly 10 years. I think I'll definitely try to organize another one in a couple years...

Summer Vacation--Part III

On our way up from New Mexico to Emily's parents in Utah, we stopped in Moab for a lunch break and to look for some dinosaur tracks. If you think of the Salt Lake City area when you think of Utah, you might not realize how much variation in climate and geography the state has to offer. Moab is dry with bare red rocks that jut out all over the place. It is its own kind of beauty. To see the dinosaur tracks better you could pour a little water on them and they would pop out very clearly. The video is a bit garbled at times from the wind, but Abigail is showing where she thinks the dinosaur walked...

Allosaurus!

What about this one grandpa?!
