Benson Charles Forsyth: 6lbs 11oz

Well, there are plenty of details to give, but I'm pretty tired so I'm going to cut to the highlights!

WE HAD A BABY!!!!!

Benson's due date was the 21st of May, but apparently he decided to come a little earlier. He was born May 6 around 5:26am. The picture of me cutting the umbilical cord was clear enough that it recorded the time and date on my watch:

This was a tender mercy for us to have Benson when he came. Emily fell on a toy last week which nearly put her into early labor the day before I was to leave for a conference in Denver. Her uterus calmed down enough for me to go, and while there I met with a potential employer, got to present my research, and received a potential invitation to a worldwide summit on education in Qatar. Benson stayed in until the day after I got back home as well as the day after all the grandparents arrived for my graduation tomorrow.
Emily's labor only lasted about 3.5 hours from water breaking to delivery. We found out afterward the umbilical cord wasn't well placed and had Benson gone full term it could have been life threatening. Again, a great blessing that he came early.

Here are just a few pictures...

To finish things off here is a quick movie right after Benson was born...

Benson has been pretty mellow so far, which has been great. We love him and we're excited to have him!
